Summer is a busy season for most home service businesses. Now is the perfect time to make sure your online presence is helping you instead of holding you back.

A few small updates can go a long way in building trust and getting more calls. This is especially true if you update your website and Google Business Profile. We’ll cover five easy tips to help you book more jobs for your service business this summer.

1. Add Recent Project Photos

Website

Create a gallery on your website or update your homepage with high-quality before-and-after photos. You can use this section to show off seasonal work. For example, lawn care, outdoor screens, pressure washing, or any other service you offer in the summer months.

Google Business Profile

Post the same photos from your website under the “Photos” tab on your Google Business Profile. If you can, add captions and geotags to your photos to show up in local searches.

Why It Helps: Photos show your real work and results. This builds trust and gives customers the confidence to book you.

2. Update Your Services List

Website

Make sure all your current services are listed clearly. Since summer is busier, you can expect to have a lot more eyes on your website. Now’s the time to make changes if you’ve added or removed services.

Google Business Profile

Every service on your website should mirror your Google Business Profile. Add any missing services under the “Services” section, and be sure to include short descriptions so Google (and your customers) know exactly what you do.

Why It Helps: Your customers need to see the services you offer. The clearer you are, the more likely you’ll be matched with someone who needs your help.

3. Highlight Seasonal Specials and Promos

Website

Add a rotating banner or sticky announcement bar at the top of your homepage with a summer promotion. Then, link it to your contact form or booking page to make it easy for visitors to claim the deal.

Google Business Profile

Use the “Posts” feature to share limited-time offers. This is like a Facebook post, but it’s shared right on your business listing. Add an image and button with a call-to-action, such as “Call Now” or “Learn More.”

Why It Helps: Special offers encourage people to act now and book quickly instead of waiting.

4. Enable Tap-to-Call

Website

The phone number on your website should be clickable on mobile. This is an important step that is often missed! Put it in the header, footer, and on the contact page.

Why It Helps: Most people will give up if they have to copy/paste your number. Make it easy for customers to contact you with the click of a button.

5. Test and Simplify Your Contact Form

Website

Send yourself a test on your contact form to make sure it works. Check to confirm you’re only asking for the info you really need. Then, add a short thank-you message so visitors know their submission went through.

Why It Helps: A broken or complex form can cost you customers. Keeping it simple and functional will bring more leads.
